The emergency contacts every occasional-care home should have

The easiest emergency plan is one you can find without thinking.

Keep these visible

In Australia, call Triple Zero (000) for police, fire or ambulance emergencies. The Poisons Information Centre is 13 11 26 for poisoning advice. Save the child’s parent/carer contacts and your home address as well.

Know the useful details

Before a stay, ask about allergies, medication, relevant medical conditions, emergency contacts and who can make decisions if a parent cannot be reached. Keep the information secure but accessible to the responsible adult.

Make your address obvious

Visitors may not know the exact street address, unit number or nearest cross street. Put it somewhere easy for an adult to find if they need to call emergency services.

For immediate danger call 000. This article is general preparedness information, not medical advice.
